Phil joined PMI and the Project Management Institute Northern Alberta Chapter in 2008 where he had the opportunity to participate in the local chapter PMP / CAPM study group offering. He has since volunteered by supporting facilitation of the study group sessions and assisting friends and colleagues on their path to certification.

Over the past four years he has held the position of VP Certification Support, VP Membership, President Elect, Chapter liaison for the PMI Educational Foundation, and is currently Chapter President.

Phil is a recent PMI LIMC graduate having completed the Leadership Institute Master Class program in 2015, and has had the opportunity to participate in the North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and well as the Asia Pacific PMI Leadership Institute Meetings representing our Chapter.

Outside of his work life, Phil was the Host Family Coordinator for Japanese schools whose students came to Canada as part of a summer English Language Program and was a long-time volunteer board member for a children’s summer camp. He found involvement in these initiatives very rewarding as they both offered opportunities to help others in their growth and development. Married with three boys, Phil enjoys seeing the world and experiencing different cultures and languages. He most enjoys having fun while helping others.
