Peter Drucker defined innovation as purposeful, focused change in an enterprise’s economic or social potential. It can and does occur in the private, public or not-for-profit sectors. It does not spring from a flash of genius but rather is a continuous purposeful search for opportunities and rigorous discipline to move ideas into practice.

Increasingly, all organizations must engage in systematic innovation activities in order to survive and grow. Innovation allows organizations to better serve customers, respond to competitive pressures and deal with economic, social and environmental forces. This course is designed to prepare leaders to lead effective innovation initiatives and to strengthen their organization’s innovation capacity.
