Claudia is a professional engineer, university instructor, and EDI champion. Before switching to academia, she worked at Enbridge managing petroleum pipeline projects for over 15 years. Today, Claudia works in different universities teaching engineering and project management. In April 2019 she shared an APEGA Summit Award, and is also the founder of WES, Women in Engineering Summit, a non-profit organization. She was born in Colombia, South America, and moved to Canada as a teenager. She lives in Edmonton with her husband and their 3 children.
