MBCT Mindfulness Training
Project Management Institute Northern Alberta (PMINAC) has partnered with Alberta Mind Biotech Corp to offer a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) program to help project managers manage the stress, anxiety, depression during these pandemic days.
As we all know, emotional intelligence is an essential leadership skill for project professionals, and self-management and self-awareness not only help us manage ourselves better, it will also help us manage our teams better. Mindfulness-Practices have been supported by researchers with solid evidence to enhance emotion regulation, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is one of the most effective structured training programs. It is generally a blend of meditation, body awareness, yoga, and other related education: through learning by practice and studying how one’s body handles (and resolves) stress neurologically in a particular situation.
PMINAC is offering an eight-week program, with one 1.5 hr facilitated mindfulness training session and one 0.5 hr lead practice session each week.
The topics of each session are as below:

Facilitator: Sarah Webb
Sarah has a business background, having earned a Masters in Business in England, followed by over a decade of hotel management, and being a part of several startups. She realized the need to bring more silence and calm into her own work-life and quickly saw the many benefits that others could gain from her meditation teachings. A firm believer in the power of mindset, the benefit of time to be silent, and the importance of mental health strategies in both corporate and personal life. Mindfulness has been an essential part of her life, balancing the ownership of two different businesses, parenting two young children, and maintaining all of the responsibilities of life. A born and raised Calgarian, Sarah enjoys traveling, reading, and aims to be out in the mountains as much as possible throughout the entire year.
