The unwritten rules sometimes are apparent while others are considered taboo. When these unwritten rules are applied in the right context along with intuition, perception & domain knowledge makes the difference between average versus successful project manager. Topics covers include everyday techniques that can be customized for your project as well as tips and tricks to manage the project before it starts controlling you.
As a project manager, we are constantly faced with uncomfortable and challenging situations – the problems no one wants to own. There are unknowns that, as a project manager, you do not know; however, someone in your team knows about it. It is vital to leverage critical thinking and judgement, collaborate and engage with stakeholders.
During this talk, we will discuss how not to shy away from hard situations and craft your way to deliver the project successfully.
The unwritten rules include how to brand yourself because if you don't brand yourself, everyone else will brand you costing you your reputation and future prospects. Further, we will look into how to re-brand yourself for the next challenge.
We will also look into how to get your numbers and fact correct, proactively and pragmatically manage project risks and issues, and have a risk and issue owner beside yourself.
