Topic: Treating Hiring as a Project

Hiring process for any people leader always poses the challenge of ensuring that the selected candidate is a good fit for the organization, team and has the capability and skill to carry out the responsibilities. The presentation will provide a best practice that can minimize these risks and help identify the best candidates from the applications.

Puneet has 30+ years of combined professional experience in the area of Oil and Gas, Power Products, IT and ISO 9001 Quality System. Puneet is currently employed with Enbridge Inc. and leads the team for Quality and Management of Change for Liquid Pipelines Business Unit.

He has worked with Honda in India for their Power Products division and was responsible for Institutional Sales.

Puneet has been an avid volunteer since he came to Canada in 2004. He has been serving in various positions as member leader for American Society for Quality (ASQ) for last 14 years including the Chair for Edmonton Section.  Currently Puneet is leading the Canada and Greenland Region as the Regional Director for 2021-22. Puneet has also volunteered with Project Management Institute (PMI) Northern Alberta Chapter study groups for PMP aspirants in 2009-10.

Puneet has also served as President for Alberta Hindi Association 2019-21 that runs a Hindi language school in Edmonton.

Puneet is a regular volunteer at the local temple events and has also successfully lead the Maanaw Seva Association (MSA) Walkathon for 3 years (2012-14).

On the professional front Puneet is currently certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and carries Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) designation. Puneet also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with specialization in Marketing.
