Lillah Penddah is the founder of AFRO FACTS, an educational tool based on the history, culture and contributions of people of African descent and the diaspora. She will be sharing how to use the art of communication to create safe spaces to have more productive conversations with respect to race, equity and inclusion. Lillah will provide you with the tools required to:

  • Build confidence and feel empowered to have DEI conversations respectfully
  • Remove the discomfort you feel when engaging in conversations with respect DEI
  • De-escalate heightened emotions with respect to uncomfortable conversations

How we communicate and interact with others is vital to our success in anything we do, including changing the world. When we make the decision to take action to eliminate discrimination and empower ourselves through education, we can engage in and commit to allyship.

Lillah Bio

Lillah Penddah is the founder and CEO of AFRO FACTS, an effective teaching tool that uses a collaborative approach to increase awareness of Black History and educate individuals about diversity, equity and inclusion. She saw that there was a lack of Black History education in schools and felt that this was a need she could fill.  Over a 10-year period she worked to create an educational tool played as a game that could be used to educate the masses on the strength, history, culture and contributions of people of African descent and the diaspora.

As a diversity, equity & inclusion facilitator, she is committed to changing the world by creating safe spaces for facilitating conversations about race, systemic racism, and our own unconscious biases.   She assists people with building their confidence and feeling empowered to have DEI conversations respectfully by providing them with the tools needed to remove the discomfort they feel and de-escalate heightened emotions with respect to uncomfortable conversations.

She finds reward in being able to share what she has learned from her own life experiences with others to inspire and champion change. We all have the power to create more inclusive environments that foster allyship.  Her true joy comes from connecting with others through shared layered conversation that allows people to increase their awareness of DEI and observe the evidence of their commonalities rather than their differences.
